چکیده

In this paper numerical technique has been used to solve multidimensional unsteady state heat conduction equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions. We focus on finite volume numerical technique for solution of multidimensional time dependent heat conduction problems. Finally, the efficiency of this technique is tested for some heat conduction problems with known analytical solutions and the numerical results obtained show that the technique produces accurate results. Numerical Investigation on Compressible Flow Characteristics in Axial Compressors Using a Multi Block Finite Volume Scheme

An unsteady two-dimensional numerical investigation was performed on the viscous flow passing through a multi-blade cascade. A Cartesian finite-volume approach was employed and it was linked to Van-Leer's and Roe's flux splitting schemes to evaluate inviscid flux terms. To prevent the oscillatory behavior of numerical results and to increase the accuracy, Monotonic Upstream Scheme for Conservat...

Numerical Investigation on Contaminant Dispersion from a Source over the Blocks in Steady and Unsteady Flows

This paper deals with numerical study of semi-finite incompressible flow of air over two blocks with different heights in the presence of a condensing-source, dispensing- contaminant in the flow, in both steady and unsteady states. The numerical solution of governing PDE equations are constructed by a finite-volume method applied on structured grid arrangement. The effects of air flow velocity,...

Moving Mesh Finite Volume Methods for One-dimensional Evolutionary Partial Diierential Equations

Finite volume moving mesh methods are developed for unsteady one-dimensional partial diierential equations. The methods can be viewed as conservative discretisations of the Lagrangian form of the original diier-ential equations. Grid points are moved using the idea of mesh equidistri-bution. The coupled unsteady diierential equations and grid movement equations are solved using a robust and eec...

Numerical Simulation of a Lead-Acid Battery Discharge Process using a Developed Framework on Graphic Processing Units

In the present work, a framework is developed for implementation of finite difference schemes on Graphic Processing Units (GPU). The framework is developed using the CUDA language and C++ template meta-programming techniques. The framework is also applicable for other numerical methods which can be represented similar to finite difference schemes such as finite volume methods on structured grid...
